Gerbe Named National Player of the Month for March/April
Boston College junior forward Nathan Gerbe, who led the Eagles to the third national championship in school history, has been named the Hockey Commissioners’ Association National Division I Player of the Month for the March/April period.
Gerbe, a 5-foot-5, 165-pound native of Oxford, Mich., produced 12 goals and 22 points during a nine-game winning streak that culminated with a 4-1 win over Notre Dame in the Frozen Four fi nal at Denver. The Buffalo Sabres’ fi fth-round selection in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft earn Most Valuable Player honors at the Hockey East Tournament, was named to the NCAA Northeast Regional All-Tournament team and earned Frozen Four Most Valuable Player honors. He produced four goals and four assists at the Frozen Four, had two goals and three points in wins over Miami and Minnesota in the fi rst two games of the NCAA Tournament at Worcester, Mass., and had a goal and four assists in victories over Vermont and New Hampshire at the Hockey East Tournament in Boston.
Gerbe, a ‘Hat Trick Finalist’ for the Hobey Baker Award, fired seven goals in the NCAA Tournament to tie three other players (the last being Boston University’s Tony Amonte in 1990) for the most goals in a single tournament. He’s also the first player to score five goals at the Frozen Four since Dave Silk of Boston University in 1977.

Hobey Hattrick!
Boston College junior forward Nathan Gerbe has been named one of three Hobey Baker Award Hat Trick finalists, according to an announcement made by the committee on Wednesday evening.
The three finalists for college hockey's top individual honor are Gerbe, Miami's Ryan Jones and Michigan's Kevin Porter
